“Talking About Medications” Workshop Series
This interactive workshop series is intended to help older adults and their care partners have conversations with healthcare providers about medications. The 90-minute interactive workshops are led by a healthcare provider and can be provided in person or virtually. Participant workbooks are available. The deprescribing.org team has made these resources available for groups that wish to run the workshop series themselves.
Polypharmacy and Deprescribing Learning Module
Learn how polypharmacy develops over time and how to recognize common drug-induced symptoms and prescribing cascades. The learning module is designed for healthcare professionals and employs a fictional case to help improve understanding of polypharmacy and approaches for deprescribing.
Public Event Planning Guide
As part of the Deprescribing Interventions using Community Engagement (DICE) project, the Bruyère team worked with an advisory group made up of local residents of a small community in rural Ontario to create and pilot a community event designed to encourage older adults, caregivers, and healthcare providers to talk more with each other about medication management and, by doing so, minimizing the risks and maximizing the benefits of medications.
