Public Event Planning Guide

The ‘Talking About Your Medications: A Community-Event Planning Guide’, along with the other supporting materials, were produced so other communities interested in starting important conversations about medication management amongst older community members can plan and hold their own events.

‘Talking About Your Medications’: A Community-Event Planning Guide

As part of the Deprescribing Interventions using Community Engagement (DICE) project, the Bruyère team worked with an advisory group made up of local residents of a small community in rural Ontario to create and pilot a community event designed to encourage older adults, caregivers, and healthcare providers to talk more with each other about medication management and, by doing so, minimizing the risks and maximizing the benefits of medications.

Based on our experience, we’ve produced this guide, along with supporting materials, so other communities interested in starting important conversations about medication management amongst older community members can plan and hold their own events. If you have any questions about the guide or would like to provide the Bruyère team with feedback, please contact us at [email protected]
